Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) eager to support student communication development at well-established campuses in the East and Northeast Houston Metro area. This position offers hands-on engagement with diverse student populations across three campuses—Furr High School, Edison Middle School, and Holland Middle School. Candidates who are passionate about making a positive impact within the school setting and can reliably commute to all locations are highly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Texas SLPA license (must be ready upon submission; supervision hours not provided) Previous school-based experience as an SLPA required Fully on-site presence required across all three specified campuses Reliable transportation for commutes between locations Flexibility to begin as soon as possible and commit through late May 2027 Ability to complete and cover HISD fingerprinting within the first three days of contract signing
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services to students in a school-based environment Collaborate effectively with onsite teams and supervising SLPs Support assessment, progress monitoring, and documentation in compliance with district policies Maintain a dynamic schedule to accommodate service delivery at multiple campuses Contribute to a positive learning atmosphere, advocating for student communication needs
