Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful school-based opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the full academic year in a vibrant educational setting near Hampton, VA. Your role will involve supporting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists by delivering targeted interventions, implementing therapy activities, and tracking student progress. With a full-time schedule, you'll play a crucial part in student success throughout the entire school year.
Key Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field required Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as an SLPA Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred Strong communication skills and a passion for helping children succeed Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Organizational skills for maintaining documentation and session notes
Primary Responsibilities:
Administer speech and language therapy sessions as directed by supervising SLP Assist in developing individualized educational strategies for students Document and report on student progress toward their goals Provide support during classroom activities to facilitate communication skills Engage with teachers, parents, and school personnel to support student needs Maintain up-to-date records in compliance with school and state requirements
