Key Qualifications:
Hands-on experience as a Sterile Processing Technician Knowledge of sterilization techniques, instrument decontamination, and equipment maintenance Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) credential preferred; consideration also given to non-certified candidates with strong experience Skill in reading and interpreting sterilization indicators and documentation Understanding of infection control guidelines and standards Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Commitment to teamwork, safety, and patient care quality
Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to strict protocols Operate autoclaves, washers, and other sterilization equipment safely and efficiently Monitor and verify sterilization cycles, maintaining complete and accurate records Adhere to hospital and regulatory procedures for infection prevention Organize and track inventory of surgical trays and supplies, ensuring timely distribution to clinical areas Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to meet daily demand and maintain instrument availability Report broken or missing instruments promptly to appropriate personnel
