Key Qualifications:
Active Sterile Processing Technician certification required (CRCST, CBSPD, or equivalent). Demonstrated experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and industry best practices. Familiarity with washing, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments. Excellent attention to detail and ability to adhere to established protocols. Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and washers/disinfectors. Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments for various hospital departments. Document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Maintain a clean, organized environment and adhere to infection prevention protocols at all times. Collaborate with nursing staff and surgical teams to meet day-to-day instrument and supply needs. Conduct thorough quality control checks to guarantee all items meet sterilization requirements before distribution. Assist with inventory, restocking supplies, and identifying equipment in need of repair or replacement.
