Traveler Requirements:

2 years of Sterile Processing experience are required; Decontamination and disinfection experience including automated endoscope reprocessors, chemical agents, high-level disinfection, manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaners and washers/sterilizers are required; Instrument preparation experience including tray preparation, proper labeling, selection of wrapping materials and sterilization wrapping procedures is required; Endoscope and scope/probe reprocessing experience including flexible scope processing such as bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, cystoscopes, EGD scopes and TEE probes is required; Broad specialty instrument processing experience including cardiac, endoscopy, general surgery, robotics, neuro, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, orthopedics/total joints, trauma, transplant, urology, and vascular is required; Sterilization testing and monitoring experience including biological and chemical indicators, immediate-use steam sterilization, steam sterilization, Steris and Sterrad are required; Epic experience is preferred; Censitrac and equipment documentation experience are also preferred.

Responsibilities:

Perform sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection of surgical instruments and scopes. Prepare instrument trays, label items properly, and ensure proper sterilization wrapping procedures are followed. Reprocess endoscopes and probes, including flexible scopes such as bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, cystoscopes, and TEE probes. Monitor sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators to ensure compliance and safety. Support surgical services within the Operating Room at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia.
