Job Description

We are seeking 2-4 PRN RNs for our ASC. Our Fort Myers center specializes in ENT surgery OR -Circulator
CIRCULATOR
Verify patient identity and surgical procedure (time-out process) Ensure all necessary consents are signed Conduct pre-op assessments and communicate findings to the surgical team Maintain a sterile field and monitor for breaches Document all intraoperative activities, instruments, medications, and specimens Serve as patient advocate during surgery Assist with positioning, prepping, and transferring the patient Coordinate with pathology, radiology, or other departments if needed
Preoperative Duties:
Maintain cleanliness and order in the preoperative area. Conduct thorough preoperative patient assessments tailored to the outpatient setting. Assist in evaluating the physical and emotional status of patients prior to admission. Provide preoperative instructions, including patient rights and responsibilities. Educate patients and their significant others about the preoperative experience, expectations, and postoperative care. Verify patient readiness for surgery, including NPO status, medication administration, and surgical site verification. Perform preoperative testing such as PT/INR, glucose, and ECG, and communicate abnormal results to anesthesiologists or surgeons. Obtain informed consent for surgery and necessary signatures while explaining associated rights and responsibilities. Organize preoperative admitting bays and ensure the availability of patient charts and required documentation. Postoperative (PACU)
Duties:
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the postoperative area. Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' clinical, emotional, and pain management needs. Deliver safe, individualized nursing care during the immediate postoperative phase. Document postoperative care and collaborate with colleagues to ensure patient recovery aligns with approved procedures. Monitor patients for complications and promptly inform the surgeon or anesthetist as necessary. Provide discharge planning, including patient education on care at home and recognition of conditions requiring immediate medical attention. Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality throughout care.
Administrative and Team Duties:
Organize time, equipment, supplies, and personnel effectively for both preoperative and postoperative management. Ensure proper inventory management of supplies, drugs, and equipment. Mentor and guide staff, considering individual abilities during task delegation. Stay current on clinical competencies, including monitoring equipment and IV pumps.
