Job Description
About the Position We are seeking a dependable, motivated Surgical Assistant to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have strong operating room skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing safe, high-quality patient care in an outpatient surgical setting. Responsibilities Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures. Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment, and supplies. Maintain sterile technique and assist with surgical counts. Position and prepare patients for procedures. Assist with surgical draping and other intraoperative needs. Handle instruments and supplies safely and efficiently. Assist with room turnover and cleaning between cases. Follow infection prevention, safety, and facility policies. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other team members. Maintain accurate documentation as required. Help ensure the OR is fully prepared for each scheduled procedure. Qualifications Previous surgical/operating room experience preferred. Surgical Assistant certification or applicable training preferred. Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented. Current BLS certification required or ability to obtain.
