The ideal candidate will assist surgeons and specialists in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable clinical environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Assist oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists, and general dentists during surgical and specialty procedures. Prepare treatment rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and materials for a variety of dental procedures. Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines. Prepare and seat patients, review medical histories, and obtain vital signs when appropriate. Assist with dental implant surgeries, extractions, bone grafting, sinus lifts, periodontal surgeries, biopsies, IV or oral sedation procedures (where permitted), and other specialty treatments. Monitor patient comfort and assist with postoperative recovery and discharge instructions. Take and process digital radiographs, CBCT scans, intraoral photographs, and impressions as permitted by state regulations. Prepare surgical trays and ensure all equipment is functioning properly before procedures. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. Document clinical notes accurately within the electronic health record. Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and notify management of ordering needs. Collaborate effectively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Dental Assisting certification or registration as required by state law. Current CPR/BLS certification. X-ray certification (if required by state). Previous experience assisting with oral surgery or specialty dental procedures preferred. Experience with Open Dental. Strong knowledge of sterilization, infection prevention, and OSHA regulations. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to remain calm and compassionate while assisting anxious or surgical patients
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
