Central Washington Oral and Facial Surgery is currently accepting applications for a full time Surgical Assistant who is looking to join an upbeat, fast-paced and dynamic team at our Wenatchee location. The ideal candidate will have great interpersonal skills and a commitment to giving our patients the best experience possible. CWOFS has locations in Wenatchee, Ellensburg,Yakima and Moses Lake. The SA performs clinical and technical procedures under the supervision of a licensed dentist.

Responsibilities include:

Review medical history, progress from previous visit, review vital signs, provide patient education, and prepare patient for physician. Record keeping and charting in Electronic Medical Record. Use of 3D cone beam scan and intraoral scanner. Assist doctors in surgery (pass instruments, aspirate intra-oral fluids, mix materials and medicaments during examinations or treatment). Prepare, clean, and restock operatories. Sterilize instruments. Take digital impressions for diagnostic and opposing models. Become proficient in educating patients on dental implants, assisting all physicians, and assisting throughout the practice as needed.

• Records medical information, medications and vitals Prepare treatment rooms including, but not limited to, room set-up, documentation, sterilization of all instruments, cleaning and restocking. Maintains cleanliness of sterilizing area as well as lab. Removes post-extraction membranes and sutures. Cleans hand pieces and disposes of sharp instruments properly. Sufficient in sterilization process and tray set up. Able to perform a basic consult as well as proper documentation: Extraction, Biopsy, 43rds. Knowledge of basic surgery set up: Extraction, Biopsy, 43rds. Review post op and pre-op instructions with patients on basic surgeries. Accurately review consent as needed on basic surgeries. Take adequate photos for documentation purposes.
