Job Description

Job post summary Full-Time & Per Diem Opportunities Available Paradise Valley Specialty Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologists to join our exceptional surgical team. Our state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center is dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care in a collaborative, efficient, and patient-focused environment. We are looking for highly skilled Surgical Technologists with direct experience in total joint replacement procedures, including hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty. FT and PRN positions available. In addition to orthopedics, our center performs a variety of specialties including ENT, Urology, General Surgery, and Plastic Surgery, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms and maintain sterile fields for a variety of surgical procedures. Review the daily surgical schedule and ensure all required instruments, implants, supplies, and equipment are available and functioning properly prior to each case. Prepare, organize, and manage orthopedic instrumentation, implants, and specialty surgical equipment. Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and intraoperative support while maintaining patient safety and dignity. Perform accurate instrument, sponge, sharps, and miscellaneous item counts according to policy. Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity prior to use and promptly report deficiencies. Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including power instruments, drills, saws, suction devices, electrosurgical units, and other specialty equipment. Maintain the sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic technique throughout each procedure. Assist with specimen handling, labeling, and transport according to established protocols. Prepare and assist with the use of orthopedic implants, biologics, navigation systems, and other specialty technologies as applicable. Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterilization, regulatory, and patient safety standards, including Universal Protocol and surgical time-out procedures. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, sterile processing staff, and other team members to promote efficient case flow and outstanding patient outcomes. Participate in room setup, turnover, cleaning, and preparation between procedures to maximize operating room efficiency. Assist with inventory management by monitoring supplies, notifying leadership of shortages, and helping maintain appropriate stock levels. Accurately document implant information, counts, and other required perioperative records in accordance with facility policy. Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with ADHS, AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience in a multi-specialty setting.
Required:
Demonstrated experience scrubbing total joint replacement surgery. Strong knowledge of instrumentation, implants, and sterile surgical technique. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to anticipate surgeon needs. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume ambulatory surgery center.
