Certified Surgical Technologist Resource Specialist Position Summary In addition to normal Scrub Tech duties, serves as the primary resource, support and leader for the assigned specialty. Responsibilities Serves as the first as primary contact for the needs of the surgeons within the assigned specialty Ensures all necessary resources (supplies, implants, equipment, and instrumentation) are available for all scheduled procedures within the assigned specialty Serves as the primary contact with vendor representatives Participates in both annual operating and capital budgeting specific to assigned specialty Serves as a preceptor to co-workers new to the specialty Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required 2 years' experience in an operating room preferred Surgical Technician Certification (CST) BLS required Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are imperative to success May be required to work outside of normally scheduled hours Working Conditions Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc Must be able to assist in patient transfer Must be able to maintain a standing position Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height Typical equipment used in a clinical job
