We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist for a 9-week travel assignment in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The Surgical Technologist will play a vital role in supporting the surgical team by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and assisting during surgical procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures. Ensure all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterilized and readily available. Assist surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia providers during operative procedures. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and pass instruments efficiently. Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies according to facility policy. Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards. Transport patients to and from the operating room as needed. Document and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members. Participate in the shared on-call rotation every fourth weekend.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Diploma required). Surgical Technologist Certification preferred. Current CPR/BLS Certification required. Minimum of one year of recent Surgical Technologist experience preferred. Strong knowledge of sterile processing and operating room procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
