Job Description

Shift:
PRN, 8am-8pm, Days vary. Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PRN Ultrasound Technologist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional diagnostic imaging services. You will utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images that assist in accurate diagnoses and patient care. Duties Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, breast, vascular, and echocardiography imaging with precision and attention to detail. Operate and maintain medical imaging equipment such as ultrasound machines and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures. Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and imaging results within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and provide compassionate care throughout the imaging process. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret images and support diagnostic decision-making in diagnostics, and cardiovascular assessments. Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles relevant to ultrasound imaging. Experience Proven experience performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures across multiple specialties such as breast ultrasound, vascular technology diagnostics, and echocardiography. Strong knowledge of patient care practices. Familiarity with operating medical imaging equipment and utilizing PACS for image storage and sharing. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to demonstrate aseptic techniques and adhere to safety standards in a clinical setting. Prior experience working with EMR/EHR systems is preferred. Education Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program Licensure, Registrations, & Certifications Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS, or Current Registered Cardio Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), depending on the services performed ARRT and/or ARDMS certification. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
