We are seeking an experienced Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVT/RVS) to join our growing vascular practice. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with extensive lower extremity venous insufficiency ultrasound experience who enjoys working closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and patients in a collaborative outpatient setting. Position Highlights Full-time position working four 10-hour days per week , providing a 3-day weekend every week . Split schedule between our two Maryland locations: 2 days per week in Columbia 2 days per week in Eldersburg Collaborative team environment working directly with our physician and nurse practitioners. Primary Responsibilities Perform comprehensive lower extremity venous insufficiency (reflux) ultrasound examinations independently and accurately. Perform venous Doppler studies to evaluate for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and other venous disorders. Perform lower extremity arterial duplex ultrasound examinations . Perform carotid duplex ultrasound examinations . Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and accurate measurements while following established vascular laboratory protocols. Recognize abnormal findings and communicate urgent or significant results promptly to the physician. Work closely with the physician and nurse practitioners to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care. Document studies accurately and efficiently in eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic medical record system. Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort. Assisting the physician and NP with venous closure procedures and injections. Maintain accurate and complete ultrasound reports and patient documentation. Ensure ultrasound equipment is maintained, cleaned, and functioning properly; report equipment concerns as needed. Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards. Assist with scheduling workflow and help maintain an efficient daily patient schedule. Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure an exceptional patient experience. Participate in quality assurance initiatives and maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Stay current with advances in vascular ultrasound through continuing education and professional development. Perform other clinical duties as assigned to support the practice. Required Qualifications Current RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) credential required.
Lower extremity venous Doppler studies Lower extremity venous insufficiency studies Lower extremity arterial duplex examinations Carotid duplex examinations Previous experience in a vascular surgery, vein center, interventional radiology, or vascular laboratory preferred. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) EMR preferred. Strong understanding of vascular anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound principles. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the healthcare team. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
