The Radiographer (Obstetric Sonographer) provides high-quality obstetric and fetal medicine ultrasound services within the Women's Health - Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department. The role is responsible for performing routine and advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations across all trimesters, supporting high-risk pregnancy management, and contributing to improved maternal and fetal outcomes. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary antenatal care team, ensuring excellence in patient care, clinical governance, audit, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement.
Qualification and Experience:
The successful candidate should possess a Degree in Diagnostic Radiography and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in an Imaging Department that offers routine and special X-rays, ultrasound and other imaging modalities in a hospital (100+ beds). The candidate should have valid registration with a recognized professional body such as HCPC, ARDMS, Sonography Australia, and be eligible for registration with the CPAM council. Specialist training in obstetric ultrasound is required. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years' substantial post-qualification experience in obstetric ultrasound, including first-second, and third trimester scanning and management of high-risk obstetric cases with Doppler assessment experience. Candidates should demonstrate advanced ultrasound imaging skills, sound clinical judgement, strong communication and organizational abilities, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team environment. Experience with structured reporting systems such as Astraia or ViewPoint, fetal echocardiography, FMF-aligned screening pathways, and quality improvement initiatives would be an asset.
