Registered Vascular Technologist II SH-OC

Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for conducting non-invasive vascular studies including ultrasound.
Essential Responsibilities:
Performs non-invasive vascular studies on patients with cerebrovascular, arterial, and venous problems in Vascular Laboratory to include complete examination of carotid and vertebral systems (upper and lower extremity arterial and venous systems and arteriovenous fistulae).
Qualifications:
On call Registered Vascular Technologist. Expect to travel to other centers for coverage.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience Minimum one (1) year of vascular experience required. Minimum one (1) year of ultrasound experience required. Education Graduate from approved ultrasound training program recognized by CAHEA required. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration Registered Vascular Technologist Certificate Basic Life Support Additional Requirements:
Travel required to locations in MD, VA and DC as needed. Demonstrated sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities in area of specialization and appropriate to age groups served. Knowledge with basic epidemiology of prominent disease processes of cerebrovascular, arterial and venous systems, including knowledge of risk factors.
Knowledge and competency in following:
Physics of ultrasound waves and their interaction with human tissue for evaluation of blood flow in vessels and imaging of blood vessels; Principles of operation, signals and information provided by all commonly used vascular diagnostic equipment; Anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics of cerebrovascular, arterial and venous systems.
