Sonographer Position Summary The Sonographer performs all diagnostic ultrasound examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis. The Sonographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Performs all ultrasound procedures (General, OB-Gyn, Breast and/or Vascular, as appropriate) including patient positioning, machine set-up, image acquisition, measurements, and post-processing. 2. Follows all National Patient Safety Goals. 3. Provides recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms. 4. Reviews orders, explains procedure, answers questions and provides a high level of patient satisfaction. 5. Assists physician in the performance of invasive ultrasound procedures, if applicable. 6. Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory. • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Graduate of an
Accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Related Field of Study Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Credential or registry-eligible in appropriate areas of Ultrasound (general, OB-GYN, Vascular). Current CPR/BLS certification for Health Care Providers. Knowledge, Skills and/or
