The candidate will perform echocardiograms on pediatric and adult congenital patients according to the IAC approved protocol and complete reports with the assistance of the reading physicians, with a commitment of making each patient a family member feel supported and comfortable throughout the testing process. Additionally, you will be engaged in the teaching of echocardiography/instrumentation and interpretation of echocardiography to Pediatric Cardiology Fellows, echocardiography students, patients, and family members which can be a very rewarding process and create an opportunity for growth and leadership skills. The candidate will participate in lab meetings, quality assurance initiatives, clinical research opportunities, as well as educational sessions for the Sonographers/Fellows. Clinical time will be devoted to both outpatient and inpatient care. Candidate in this position works days from 7:30 AM
5PM (rotating schedules with staggered starts), with on-call and local travel. The ideal candidate
Graduate of a Cardiac Ultrasound Program
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Adult and/or Pediatric Echocardiography o (RDCS-AE/PE) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiac Credentialing International
Registered Pediatric Sonographer(RDCS-PE) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer(RCCS) within two years of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through The American Heart Association (AHA)
Excellent technical skill in operating sonography equipment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team
Passion to work with pediatrics patients and families.

Provides training, mentorships and preceptorships to current and new technologists and students within modality
Collaborates effectively with co-workers and staff to ensure that assignments are completed in a professional and effective manner
Participate in regulatory activities as needed
Contributes to the safe, efficient and successful operations of the department through effective communication
Effectively communicates with ordering providers and/or radiologists to properly protocols patient studies
Ensures all equipment is functioning and demonstrates ability to initiate service repair process
Maintains a responsibility for self-development with support for the learning environment of the hospital and department of radiology
Able to effectively implement new and existing protocols and standards into the daily workflow while maintaining the highest standards of patient care
Assists in preparing and maintaining all applicable equipment Quality Control, database records and/or logs
Performs other duties as assigned
