The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine and a passion for animal care. This role involves diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, providing preventative care, and educating pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices. The hospital is privately owned, and has a warm and welcoming, small town feel to it. You will work closely with a large team of skilled veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients. Plus, you can enjoy a fantastic work/life balance with weekends off! Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose medical conditions. Develop treatment plans and perform surgeries as necessary. Administer vaccinations, medications, and other treatments as prescribed. Provide emergency care and critical care for animals in need. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Maintain accurate medical records for all patients. Collaborate with veterinary technicians to ensure the well-being of animals during their stay at the clinic. Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school. Valid state veterinary license to practice. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Experience in veterinary critical care is preferred but not required. Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and handling various species including equine. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and staff.
