$160,000 - $180,000 annually (commensurate with experience) About the Opportunity A well-established animal welfare organization is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Spay/Neuter Surgeon to serve as the medical lead of its high-volume clinic. This position is responsible for clinical decision-making, medical oversight, and ensuring high-quality veterinary care for shelter and public animals. Position Summary The Veterinarian (Spay/Neuter Surgeon) will perform high-volume sterilization surgeries while overseeing daily medical operations within the clinic. This individual will be responsible for maintaining medical standards, supporting clinic staff, and ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform an average of 25-30 high-quality spay/neuter surgeries per day on shelter and public animals.
  • Conduct soft tissue surgeries, including mass removals, enucleations, and other procedures as needed.
  • Serve as the medical authority for the clinic, overseeing examinations, anesthesia, surgery, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
  • Provide medical guidance and support to veterinary assistants and clinic staff.
  • Respond appropriately to medical and surgical emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate medical records within EzyVet and/or PetPoint.
  • Monitor and uphold clinic medical protocols, SOPs, and anesthesia procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education activities.
  • Collaborate closely with operational leadership to support clinic goals and animal welfare initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
