Stilwell Animal Hospital and Equine Center's primary goal is to provide personalized, high-quality veterinary care with exceptional client experience and education. We are a tight-knit private practice which highly values clear communication with clients, and building long-term relationships with members of our community by helping their pets live longer, healthier lives. Our clients tend to be kind, practical, and committed to our clinic.
WHAT WE DO
Our clinic is predominantly companion animal at this time, but we do see equine patients for wellness and preventative care. We also see occasional exotic pets or other livestock, such as chickens, goats, tortoises, etc. on a case-by-case basis, according to the attending veterinarian's comfort level with the case. It is not required, but it is preferred, for all of our doctors to be comfortable or willing to learn about some degree of equine, livestock, or other exotic patient care. We are open to welcoming a predominantly companion animal veterinarian to our team, or supporting a veterinarian who would like to focus some of their efforts on growing the large animal side of our practice.
WHAT WE DO IT WITH
The clinic is equipped with new digital x-ray equipment, including dental radiography. We also have an ultrasound machine, and IDEXX blood and urine machines to aid in diagnosing many conditions in-house. We primarily utilize IDEXX's reference lab for any send-out tests required. We utilize Co.
Vet as an AI Scribe to assist with accurate and efficient note taking, and our practice management software is Covetrus Pulse (all electronic medical records). We have a surgical suite to be utilized for routine and soft tissue surgeries, a dental table with high-speed handpiece and ultrasonic scaler, and other equipment necessary to perform high-quality dental procedures. Other equipment available to our veterinarians include a TonoVet, pulse oximeter, doppler blood pressure monitoring, ECG monitor, and more. For our equine patients, we have a cordless Terafloat power float. In addition, we have a clinic truck that can be utilized to make house calls for a variety of patients. Our house call service is currently utilized to perform equine, canine and feline wellness care, some sick visits for a variety of species, as well as home euthanasia services.
EMERGENCIES?
NO WAY:
Associates will NOT be required to provide on-call emergency care for any species. We are lucky to have a variety of urgent care and emergency care hospitals in our vicinity, and we tell our clients about them! We do not offer after-hours emergency services for small animal patients (except on a case-by-case basis as approved by the attending veterinarian and support staff on duty), and our equine patients are only offered after-hours emergency care as we are available AND if the patient has seen us for a wellness visit in the past 12 months. This makes demand for emergency/on-call services very low. If you WANT to make a little extra cash seeing some emergencies after hours, that would be an option for you and additional compensation would be provided to see these cases. We do hope to open some evening urgent care hours in the near future as well, which may allow for fewer workdays per week with longer hours per day if desired.
