Associate Veterinarian - Small Animal

Job Description

Job Overview Georgetown Animal Hospital is a privately owned small animal practice that has been operating in Hudsonville, MI for the last 40 years. Our focus is on improving the client/pet bond along with educating clients on their pet's wellbeing and building lasting bonds with our clients. While our primary patients are cats and dogs, we also will care for pocket pets, reptiles and birds. We have a full (up to date) in-house lab, along with a fully stocked pharmacy, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, digital radiology as well as digital dental radiology. We have 6 exam rooms (one dedicated to cats only, separate dental and surgical suites along with a spacious treatment area. Georgetown Animal Hospital is looking to bring on a full time or part time associate veterinarian. Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine required for the position. Previous experience in a small animal clinic preferred, but not required.
Expected duties include:
performing physical exams on patients and documenting exam findings in SOAP notes format, administering subcutaneous and oral vaccines, interpreting diagnostics (included but not limited to, bloodwork, radiographs and cytological examinations), calculating medication doses for patients, and feel comfortable communicating diagnostic plans, medication uses, side effects and directions of use with clients. Candidates for this position must have the ability to communicate effectively with clients who need layman terms. Candidates also must be able to communicate effectively with fellow staff. Clear and appropriate directions for treatment plans must be communicated with technicians in order to efficiently and effectively treat patients in our care. Basic knowledge of animal behavior and body language is needed for the protection of the candidate as well as the assisting staff. Expected hours for full time veterinarians is 36 office hours. Our office is open Monday
  • Friday 8am
  • 7pm and Saturdays 8am
  • 12pm.
Candidates must be able to work at least one Saturday shift a month.

Pay:
$90,000.00
