Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Veterinarian to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive medical care for a diverse range of animals(majority SA), ensuring their health, well-being, and comfort. Your expertise will help diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses while fostering strong relationships with pet owners and the community. Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess health status and diagnose medical conditions. Perform surgical procedures including general surgery, dentistry, and specialized surgeries with precision and care. Administer anesthesia using best practices in anesthesiology and monitor animal physiology during procedures to ensure safety. We have well trained support staff to take on most of this responsability. Provide emergency medicine and critical & intensive care for animals requiring urgent attention. Shared on call to limit weekends and prevent burn out! Utilize veterinary terminology accurately when documenting cases, communicating with clients, and collaborating with team members. We have Nectar PIMS that includes AI notes and trained techs help navigate and proof read SOAPs. Handle exotic animals and provide specialized care for diverse species beyond traditional pets. We do see a few birds, turtles, lizards, rabbits but limited numbers at this point. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and promote healing. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Stay current with veterinary internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, and other specialties to deliver advanced care. CE provided and encouraged! Follow clinical ethical guidelines to ensure compassionate treatment aligned with professional ethics standards. Skills Experience in veterinary medicine including companion animal medicine, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and emergency care. Proficiency in animal restraint, handling dogs and other species safely and humanely. We use a fear free approach but take into account owner's time and expense. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory techniques relevant to diagnosis and treatment. New grads welcome! Skilled in animal catheterization, laboratory testing, pet grooming, and animal husbandry practices. Ability to perform anesthesia (including general anesthesia) safely across various procedures while monitoring vital signs diligently. Technicians always present during surgical proceedures to assist as well as mechanical monitoring. Experience working with exotic animals and equine patients is a plus. No cattle but willing to help persue any interest in expansion. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners on health management and preventive care. Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols for intensive patient management. No emergency clinics within 100s of miles. You get to use your skills on all levels of Critical Care Knowledge of veterinary terminology to ensure clear documentation and professional communication. $96,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
