This role is designed for a former competitive hockey player (Junior, College, or Professional) who will lead on-floor skills instruction, coach athletic performance programs in the gym, and serve as the main point of contact for our hockey families and local teams. Key Responsibilities1.
On-Floor Skills Coaching Skills Curriculum:
Follow, manage, and implement progressive training programs focusing on shooting mechanics, stickhandling, passing, and all off-ice stick skills.
Session Delivery:
Lead small-group clinics, private lessons, and team training in our off-ice skills shooting lanes.
Technical Demonstration:
Demonstrate hockey skills, puck-handling patterns, and shooting techniques at high speed. 2.
Gym & Performance Coaching Performance Training:
Coach hockey players and athletes in the gym, focusing on hockey-specific strength and long term athlete development.
Gym Floor Coaching:
Supervise and lead gym training sessions, ensuring athletes execute exercises with proper lifting technique, mechanics, and high intensity.
Program Delivery:
Deliver and follow up with parents, coaches, and agents on their hockey specific progress. 3.
Athlete Management & Parent Relations Player Assessments:
Evaluate incoming athletes, identify developmental needs, and place them in appropriate training groups.
Client Management:
Serve as the primary contact for hockey parents, providing regular progress updates and managing scheduling/retention.
Roster Tracking:
Maintain athlete development profiles and ensure high client satisfaction and retention. 4. Team Program Coordination (2026/2027 Season)
Coach Communication:
Keep team coaches and managers aligned on training schedules and player progress.
Qualifications Hockey Background:
Former competitive player (Junior, College, or Pro) required.
Coaching Experience:
Proven track record coaching youth skills, clinics, team programs, and/or strength and conditioning.
Performance Knowledge:
Strong understanding of functional strength training, speed development, and lifting mechanics. (CSCS, NASM-PES, or equivalent certification is a plus).
Administrative Skills:
Organized, reliable, and comfortable using scheduling, booking, or player tracking software.
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
