Golf Shop Assistant

Job Description

Overview The Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager & Assistant Golf Professional along with Head Golf Professional with the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and services department by administering the day-to-day golf shop duties, such as opening and closing, answering calls and making golf reservations. This position is also responsible for the assisting with the maintenance of the golf course's cart fleet, as well as, building maintenance.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service:
Greet members and guests, answer phone calls, and provide information about course rules, rates, and events.
Reservations & Check-In:
Book tee times and register players as they arrive.
Sales & Cashier Duties:
Process green fees, cart rentals, and merchandise sales using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
Merchandising:
Stock shelves, display new apparel and equipment, and keep the shop clean.
Opening & Closing:
Complete daily cash drawers, balance receipts, and secure the facility.
Qualifications & Skills Communication:
Friendly, outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
Computer Literacy:
Basic math and computer skills to operate the POS system.
Golf Knowledge:
Familiarity with the game of golf and basic course terminology is preferred, though training is often provided for beginners.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and occasionally lift up to 25-30 pounds.
Scheduling:
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak golf seasons.
