Illusions Food Company is a locally owned wholesale manufacturing bakery located in Anchorage, Alaska. We prepare a large quantity of baked goods and deli items each day, including cookies, muffins, brownies, cakes, bars/squares, biscotti, scones, cinnamon rolls, etc. We are looking for a fabulous person to roll, cut out and decorate cookies. The position also decorates some cakes and assists the bakery production team as time permits. Starting pay depends on experience and skill level. Position is part-time through December (days to be determined with candidate). We will consider full-time and extending the position to year around for the right candidate. Illusions full-time employees are here 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Monday - Friday. No evening or weekend work available. Please apply only if this time schedule works for you.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

Roll out dough. Make frosting. Follow proper baking procedures. Decorate cookies, some cakes and cupcakes, etc. Operate edible ink printer including setting up templates using accompanying software. Work with management to create new decorating designs. Dip biscotti to fill orders. Assist bakery/deli production teams, as needed. Prepare, finish, package, and label bakery and deli food products. Work with management, bakers, and staff to determine which products need to be produced, based on inventory levels and outstanding orders. Maintain proper storage, identification, organization and records of products while maintaining optimal freshness. Ensure proper equipment and facility cleaning practices and maintain food code compliant facility at all times: Keep working area(s) organized, clean, maintained and safe.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Minimum one year cookie/cake decorating experience required. Accurately count, multiple, subtract, add, divide. Understanding of baker's math preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Include but are not limited to: balancing, bending, carrying, climbing (foot stool or ladder), kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, squatting, standing, twisting, walking. Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 25 pounds at all times. Exposure to extreme temperatures (cooler, freezer, oven, outside, etc.) Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours daily.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS

High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to fluently speak, read, and understand the English language. Commercial / wholesale bakery manufacturing production experience preferred. State of Alaska or Municipality of Anchorage Food Workers Card (within 30 days of hire) and/or ServSafe Certification Position is located in Anchorage, Alaska. Applicants MUST be available to physically work at the bakery on scheduled days from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
