The Bakery (West Palm Beach, FL) The Bakery by Lessing's The Bakery by Lessing's is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Cake Decorator / Pastry Assistant to join our growing team. We specialize in luxury wedding cakes and high-end desserts for some of South Florida's premier wedding venues. We're looking for someone who is passionate about cake artistry, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Decorate wedding cakes using smooth buttercream finishes and sharp edges. Execute a variety of piping techniques, textures, and modern cake finishes. Apply fresh flowers, sugar flowers, fondant accents, metallic details, and other decorative elements. Assist with stacking, doweling, and preparing cakes for safe transport. Produce desserts and pastries according to company recipes and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Work efficiently to meet production schedules and event deadlines. Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and bakery team to ensure every cake meets luxury presentation standards. Qualifications Previous experience decorating cakes in a bakery, pastry shop, or similar environment. Strong buttercream skills are required. Experience working with fondant, gum paste, and sugar flowers is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team. Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Ability to remain calm and organized in a high-volume production kitchen. Weekend availability is required due to wedding production schedules.
