Role Overview The Culinary and Hospitality Associate Level 1 supports daily Food and Nutrition operations under general supervision and according to established procedures. This role requires a commitment to excellent customer service, teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Associates may be asked to perform duties outside of their primary responsibilities to support overall department needs. Required Qualifications Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation Ability to: Communicate clearly and follow verbal and written directions Follow basic food assembly and packaging instructions Read and understand the English language Perform basic math Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served Preferred Qualifications Extensive customer service experience Strong organizational skills Self-motivated, independent and proactive Key Responsibilities Assemble and serve food and supplies for customers, patients and facility areas Deliver meals and supplies to patient rooms Perform light and heavy cleaning tasks including dishwashing, trash removal and general facility cleaning Operate cash registers and patient meal ordering systems Stock, label, date and rotate products Demonstrate outstanding customer service consistent with Bronson's mission and values Prepare, portion, distribute and store hot and cold food items according to recipes, production sheets and portion standards Measure, wash, clean, mix and combine ingredients for food production Operate both automatic appliances and manual kitchen tools Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions More than 90 percent of work time involves: Mentally and visually tiring tasks Repetitive motions such as cutting, chopping and handling kitchen tools Managing multiple priorities in busy, fast-paced environments Work requiring strength and stamina Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, with occasional assistance for heavier tasks Pushing, pulling or handling equipment and materials Using proper body mechanics and safe work practices Maintaining a safe workspace by keeping areas clean, reporting hazards and ensuring equipment is properly maintained
