Position Overview Livoti's Old World Market is looking for a dependable, hardworking Bakery Assistant to join our bakery team. The Bakery Assistant supports the Bakery Manager and Baker with daily production, preparation, packaging, stocking, merchandising, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with food, takes pride in presentation and cleanliness, has a strong work ethic, and can work efficiently in a busy retail environment. Essential Responsibilities Assist the Baker and Bakery Manager with daily bakery production and preparation. Help prepare, portion, package, label, and merchandise bakery products. Assist with breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, desserts, and other bakery items as directed. Prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently. Stock and maintain bakery displays throughout the day. Ensure products are properly labeled, dated, rotated, and presented according to Livoti's standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Properly clean and sanitize bakery equipment, work surfaces, utensils, and floors. Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing bakery ingredients and supplies. Monitor product quality and freshness and immediately report concerns to the Bakery Manager. Assist customers with product questions and provide friendly, knowledgeable service. Help maintain appropriate inventory levels and communicate when supplies are running low. Follow recipes, production procedures, portion standards, and company guidelines. Work cooperatively with bakery team members and other store departments. Perform additional bakery duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous bakery, food preparation, grocery, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred. Previous bakery production experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks. Ability to lift and move bakery ingredients, boxes, and supplies as needed. Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Must follow all food safety and sanitation procedures. Positive attitude and strong customer service skills. Availability Requirements Open availability is strongly preferred. Weekends and holidays are a MUST. The bakery is a busy department, and flexibility during weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and peak business periods is an important part of the position.
