Assists the bakery department in preparing desserts daily, supplying baked goods for service. Preps and bakes items following standard recipes. We believe excellence is achieved through consistency, professionalism, and the pursuit of continuous improvement. Essential Functions Perform basic cooking and baking techniques. Follow recipes accurately. Prepare raw materials such as oil, yeast, flour, and sugar for baking purposes. Assist baker in baking breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and other bakery items. Make fondant, frosting, and butter cream mixtures by following taste, color, and consistency protocols. Handle baking supplies and equipment. Stock and count inventory. Procure out-of-stock items. Work at a fast pace and efficiently multitask in order to keep up with high-volume production.
Operate industrial baking equipment:
mixers, ovens, ranges, etc. Work the dessert/bakery stations. Keep line stocked and neat. Work calmly under stress and maintain a positive attitude. Follow verbal and written instructions. Communicate cordially with supervisors, coworkers, and customers. Follow proper food safety and sanitation protocols. Perform job in a safe manner and be mindful of the safety of others. Additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications To succeed in this role, the candidate must be able to perform the essential duties listed above at a high level. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or equivalent. 1year of culinary training. Experience working in commercial food service is preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and carry trays weighing up to 40 pounds. Bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant efficiently. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
