Overview:
As a baker at Sagaponack General Store, you will be a key part of our team, contributing to the production of high-quality baked goods for our location. Your role will involve preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, ensuring consistency and excellence in every batch. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to meet daily production goals and maintain the high standards of Sagaponack General Store.
Key Responsibilities:
Bread Production:
Prepare, mix, and bake a variety of baked goods according to our recipes and standards. Follow precise measurements and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in every batch. Monitor and adjust oven temperatures and baking times to achieve perfect results.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular checks on dough and baked products to ensure quality standards are met. Identify and address any issues with product consistency, baking times, or finished products. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the baking area, adhering to sanitation standards.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely restocking. Report any shortages or issues with ingredients to the Kitchen Manager. Help in managing the rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other bakers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to the Kitchen Manager. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new techniques and processes.
Compliance and Safety:
Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment. Use equipment and tools safely and responsibly, reporting any malfunctions or hazards. Ensure all baked goods are stored, handled, and transported according to food safety standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about industry trends and new baking techniques. Suggest improvements to recipes, processes, and operations to enhance quality and efficiency. Participate in the development and testing of new bread products.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of baking techniques and processes. Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a food production environment.

Consistency and quality of baked goods. Efficiency in meeting daily production goals. Adherence to health and safety standards. Contribution to team collaboration and communication. Proactive involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay:
From $24.00 per hour
