About Just Chippy's Just Chippy's is a small, female-founded cookie business built on really good ingredients, really good people, and Just a Darn Good Cookie. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who is excited to grow with us and become an important part of our bakery team. The Role We're looking for a reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented Baker's Assistant to support our daily cookie production. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen, takes pride in consistency and organization, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You'll work closely with our baker to help prepare ingredients, portion dough, bake cookies, maintain a clean workspace, and keep production moving efficiently throughout the day. Prior professional baking experience is a plus. Duties Assisting with daily cookie production and bakery preparation. Measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes. Mixing and preparing cookie dough under the direction of the baker. Weighing and portioning cookie dough to ensure consistency. Preparing fillings, toppings, and other cookie components. Loading and unloading ovens and monitoring bake times. Preparing baking sheets, equipment, and workstations for production. Packaging finished cookies and assembling orders as needed. Rotating, labeling, storing, and organizing ingredients and prepared products. Monitoring ingredient and supply levels and communicating when items need to be restocked. Washing dishes, baking equipment, trays, utensils, and other kitchen tools. Keeping all bakery workspaces clean, sanitary, organized, and properly stocked. Following food safety, sanitation, allergen, and proper food-handling procedures. Assisting with opening and closing bakery production procedures. Helping the bakery team with additional production and operational tasks as the business grows. Skills & Qualifications Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently follow a scheduled shift. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Comfortable working in a fast-paced bakery environment. Ability to multitask while maintaining consistency and quality. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Basic math skills for weighing, measuring, and scaling ingredients. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team. Willingness to learn and receive feedback. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Prior bakery, kitchen, restaurant, or food-production experience is a plus. Passion for producing high-quality food and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.
