Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Baker to join our team. In this role, you will support the bakery operations by preparing high-quality baked goods, assisting with food production, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your enthusiasm for baking and food preparation will contribute to creating delicious products that delight our customers. Responsibilities Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, following established recipes and standards Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and slicing machines safely and efficiently Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper storage procedures Package baked items securely for retail display or catering orders while ensuring product quality Support food handling processes with attention to hygiene, portion control, and ingredient accuracy Collaborate with team members during high-volume production shifts to meet deadlines and quality expectations Skills Proven experience in food production, baking, or pastry preparation within a busy kitchen environment Strong knife skills and dough preparation techniques essential for consistent baked goods Knowledge of cake decorating and pastry presentation to enhance product appeal Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following safety guidelines Excellent attention to detail for recipe adherence and quality control Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing portion sizes Customer service orientation to support retail or catering operations when interacting with clients or guests Commitment to maintaining a clean workspace in compliance with food safety management standards Previous experience in the food industry or catering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
