You use one grouphead on a three-group espresso machine when there are 5 drinks up. You think you're cooler than other people. You insist it's important to weigh every espresso shot by the gram. You think coffee perfection is more important than how you make people feel. You love looking at your phone at work when it gets slow. This post is for two different positions: Register Operator and Barista . Both are tipped positions, but the Barista position earns more of the tip share. Operating the register is our entry-level position. For the register operator position we're looking for personality first, authentic connection with people, a real posture of service and care, some proof that you can handle a busy environment really helps. But we'll train everything else, so if you think you're a good fit, apply. For the barista positions, we'll also train that, but for our first batch of baristas, we need some experience. If you can steam milk into silken microfoam, and know how to prepare espresso, that's what we're looking for at first. But beyond the skill set, we are looking for gifted human connectors who tend to choose joy at work. All new hires, experienced in coffee or not, will have a solid week of class room style training based on our manual, followed by a written test. To continue on with us that will have to be passed.
