Part-Time Pay:

$15.00-$17.00 per hour + tips Job Overview VitaVie is looking for an energetic, reliable, and hospitality-driven Barista to join our team. As a Barista at VitaVie, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, matcha, and specialty beverages while creating a warm and welcoming experience for every guest. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, moves with urgency, stays organized during busy periods, and understands that being a great Barista is about more than making drinks. It is about quality, consistency, cleanliness, teamwork, and genuine hospitality . You will work closely with the rest of the Front of House team and may support the register, food running, restocking, and other service positions when needed. We value team members who take ownership of their station, notice what needs to be done, and take action without always waiting to be asked. ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation & Quality Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, coffee, matcha, Ube, specialty beverages, and other menu items according to VitaVie recipes and standards. Maintain consistency in taste, portion, temperature, texture, and presentation. Properly operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment. Steam and texture milk consistently and execute basic latte art. Follow recipes, measurements, and preparation procedures accurately. Read and execute POS tickets correctly, including sizes, modifiers, special requests, and dine-in or to-go orders. Maintain speed and accuracy during high-volume periods without sacrificing product quality. Guest Experience Welcome every guest with a friendly, positive, and professional attitude. Create genuine connections with customers and contribute to a welcoming VitaVie atmosphere. Take orders and make recommendations based on guest preferences. Develop strong knowledge of our menu, ingredients, seasonal items, and beverage offerings. Understand key allergen information and communicate it appropriately to guests. Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive service rather than waiting to be asked. Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and involve a Shift Leader or Manager when necessary. Build relationships with returning guests and help create the type of experience that makes people want to come back. Service & Teamwork Work closely with Cashiers, Food Runners, kitchen team members, and leadership to maintain smooth and efficient service. Communicate clearly with teammates during busy periods. Support the register, food running, packaging, restocking, and other Front of House responsibilities when needed. Help teammates during rushes and contribute to the overall success of the shift. Participate in cross-training and be willing to learn additional restaurant positions. Communicate product shortages, equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or operational problems promptly to leadership. Cleanliness & Organization Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary, and fully stocked bar throughout the entire shift. Restock ingredients, cups, milk, supplies, and other products before they run out. Properly clean and maintain espresso machines, steam wands, pitchers, grinders, counters, sinks, and beverage equipment. Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, labeling, dating, and FIFO procedures. Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities. Participate in daily cleaning and scheduled deep-cleaning tasks. Maintain a clean-as-you-go mentality throughout service. Skills & QualificationsRequired Strong customer service and communication skills. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong sense of urgency and organization. Willingness to learn and consistently follow VitaVie recipes, procedures, and quality standards. Ability to receive feedback positively and apply it to your work. Willingness to support other positions and responsibilities when needed. Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods during a shift. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak business periods when required. Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain one when required. Preferred 1+ year of previous Barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience. Experience working with a commercial espresso machine and grinder. Knowledge of espresso extraction and coffee fundamentals. Experience steaming and texturing milk. Basic latte art skills. Matcha and specialty beverage experience. Previous POS and cash-handling experience. Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume café environment. Strong menu and allergen awareness. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
