The 1899 Café is a new establishment in Milbridge, offering unique coffees and delicious breakfast and lunch selections. We are looking for a year-round, experienced barista who wants to be an active participant in building our new venture.

Responsibilities:

The barista will prepare and serve specialty coffees and beverages as well as other café offerings. Duties will include but are not limited to: Take customer orders and payments Prepare and serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso, and teas Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils Understand and describe menu items to customers Perform open and closing tasks Prepare or serve menu items such as salads and sandwiches Restock shelves Take out garbage Additional tasks as assigned by manager

The ideal candidate has strong people skills, a desire to provide an exceptional experience for customers, and thrives in a team environment.

Among the skills needed are:

Service-minded Flexible Ability to work with different personalities Verbal and written communication Level-headed/ability to work in potentially high-pressure environment The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of barista experience. Competitive salary plus benefits.
