Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our Ventnor Starbucks team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in our café, preparing high-quality beverages and providing outstanding customer service. Your enthusiasm for coffee and commitment to excellence will help foster a warm and inviting atmosphere for our patrons. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations. Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with their experience. Operate cash registers efficiently, handling cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures. Assist with food preparation and service as needed, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Monitor inventory levels of supplies and ingredients, communicating needs to management for timely restocking. Uphold the café's values by promoting a friendly environment and contributing positively to team dynamics. Experience Previous experience in food service or retail environments is preferred but not required. Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus. Strong math skills for accurate cash handling and basic retail math calculations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. A passion for coffee culture and eagerness to learn about different brewing methods and beverage offerings. Food handling certification is advantageous but can be obtained after hiring.
