Stockton Market is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Barista / Cashier to join our Front of House team. This role is an important part of the daily Market experience. You'll prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages, assist customers at the register, and help keep our café and retail areas welcoming, organized, and well stocked. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, pays attention to the details, and is comfortable jumping in wherever needed.

Compensation & Schedule Base Pay:

$17/hour + pooled tips

Full-Time:

Approximately 40 hours per week, with shifts staggered throughout the week

Part-Time:

Flexible weekly schedule Weekend availability is required for both positions. Responsibilities Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other café items with consistency and care. Greet customers warmly, take orders, answer questions, and provide attentive service. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and process transactions accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café, counter, and customer-facing environment. Restock café, retail, and service areas throughout the day as needed. Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures. Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs to managers. Learn our products, menu, and seasonal offerings so you can confidently assist customers. Help promote new products, specials, and Market offerings. Work collaboratively with the Front of House, kitchen, bakery, and retail teams. Jump in where needed to help keep service running smoothly during busy periods and downtime. Qualifications Friendly, professional, and comfortable engaging with customers. Strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team. Comfortable using a POS system and handling customer transactions. Previous barista, café, restaurant, or retail experience is preferred but not required. An interest in coffee, food, hospitality, and locally made products is a plus. Willingness to learn and receive feedback. Ability to work weekends and some holidays as needed. A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
