Position Summary The Bartender is responsible for creating an elevated beverage experience while delivering warm, intuitive hospitality. This role requires confidence, efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining genuine connections with guests. Responsibilities Hospitality & Guest Experience Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and confidence. Create memorable experiences through genuine conversation and personalized recommendations. Guide guests through our cocktail, wine, beer, and food offerings with enthusiasm and knowledge. Recommend beverages that complement menu selections rather than simply taking drink orders. Read guests' preferences and confidently suggest wines, cocktails, or spirits they'll enjoy. Handle guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and grace. Beverage Excellence Prepare handcrafted cocktails with consistency, speed, and precision. Maintain extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, seasonal features, wines, beer, and spirits. Execute recipes exactly while maintaining presentation standards. Continuously learn about new spirits, wines, and seasonal ingredients. Ensure every beverage leaving the bar reflects North & River's commitment to quality. Teamwork Work seamlessly with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to create a smooth guest experience. Communicate clearly and respectfully during busy services. Support teammates wherever needed. Contribute to a positive, professional culture built on trust, accountability, and humility. Bar Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout every shift. Assist with inventory, restocking, and organization. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards. Open and close the bar according to established procedures. Preferred Qualifications Previous bartending experience in an upscale casual or full-service restaurant. Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and classic cocktails.
