This position combines 1-2 days per week in the brewery cellar with 4 bartending shifts each week , plus occasional fill-in shifts as needed. We're looking for someone who thrives in a small brewery environment—someone who enjoys working hard, learning constantly, and takes pride in doing every task with precision. If you're a true "Jack or Josephine of all trades" with a passion for craft beer, we'd love to meet you.
Compensation:
$30-40/hour (combined hourly wage and bartending tips) What We're Looking For A genuine passion for independent craft beer Strong knowledge and appreciation of all beer styles Exceptional attention to detail Ability to follow detailed procedures consistently Self-motivated and able to work independently Positive attitude with a strong work ethic Comfortable working in both customer-facing and production environments Type-A personalities tend to thrive here Bartender Responsibilities Our bartenders are the face of CODA Brewing Co. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and creating memorable experiences.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver outstanding customer service Educate guests about our brewery and beers Recommend beers based on customer preferences Maintain a clean and organized taproom Complete opening and closing duties Request and verify proper ID for alcohol service Clean tap lines and change kegs Work efficiently during busy service Be a dependable team player Bartender Qualifications Craft beer knowledge required TIPS Certification preferred Previous bartending or brewery experience preferred Excellent multitasking skills Outgoing, friendly personality Strong communication skills Physical Requirements Lift 60 lb sixth-barrel kegs Assist with lifting 165 lb half-barrel kegs Stand for extended periods Cellar Operator Responsibilities The Cellar Operator supports all brewery production activities while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and consistency.
Responsibilities include:
Grain handling, milling, and inventory Water preparation Mash-in and grain-out Cleaning and sanitizing brewery equipment (CIP & SIP) Tank cleaning and sanitation Beer transfers Dry hopping and trub removal Carbonation and filtration Canning line setup, cleaning, and operation Quality control testing Production recordkeeping General brewery cleaning including sweeping, mopping, pressure washing, and maintaining an organized workspace Operation of forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment (training provided if needed) Participate in beer events and represent CODA Brewing Co. Opportunity for Growth After mastering cellar operations, outstanding candidates may have the opportunity to advance into an Assistant Brewer role, learning: Wort production Yeast management Advanced cellar operations Brewing process management Working Conditions Typical work week: 40+ hours Some 10-12 hour shifts Standing for extended periods Frequent lifting up to 55 lbs Exposure to varying temperatures Ability to work from ladders and elevated platforms Required use of personal protective equipment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Eligible to work in the United States Strong commitment to workplace safety Excellent attention to detail Ability to identify and solve problems Passion for craft beer and brewing Previous brewery experience is preferred but not required for exceptional candidates About CODA Brewing Co.
