Job Description

Part-Time Theatre Bartender Marietta's Theatre in the Square is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Bartender to join our Front of House team. Marietta's Theatre in the Square is a live professional theatre dedicated to creating engaging theatrical experiences in a welcoming environment for our audiences. Our goal is for the experience to begin the moment guests walk through our doors—not just when the curtain rises. The Bartender plays an important role in creating that experience by providing excellent and efficient service before performances and during intermission. Position Responsibilities The Bartender is primarily responsible for operating the theatre bar and serving beer, wine, and other approved beverages to patrons.
Responsibilities include:
Setting up and preparing the bar prior to each performance Serving beer and wine to theatre patrons in a friendly and efficient manner Checking identification and following all applicable alcohol-service requirements Processing cash and electronic payments accurately Maintaining a clean, organized, and presentable bar area Monitoring beverage inventory during shifts Restocking supplies as needed Assisting the concession stand when additional support is needed Providing excellent customer service to theatre patrons Cleaning and resetting the bar following each performance Working collaboratively with Front of House staff and theatre management Performance Schedule & Hours This is a part-time, show-based position . Hours are based on the theatre's production and performance schedule.
Our standard performance schedule is:
Friday:
8:00 PM performance
Saturday:
3:00 PM and 8:00 PM performances
Sunday:
3:00 PM performance Bartenders are expected to arrive two hours before the scheduled performance to prepare and set up the bar. Most productions run approximately two hours . Bartenders are released after the performance has ended and all required post-show cleaning, restocking, and closing responsibilities have been completed. Because Saturdays may include both a matinee and evening performance, applicants should be comfortable working performance-based schedules, including evenings and weekends. Qualifications Basic bartending or beverage-service experience required Experience serving beer and wine preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Comfortable handling payments and operating a point-of-sale system Ability to work efficiently during busy pre-show and intermission periods Dependable and punctual Ability to maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor with patrons Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcohol Must be available for evening and weekend performances Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate understands that working at a theatre is about more than serving drinks. We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, works well in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of creating a welcoming experience for every guest. This position is a great fit for someone with bartending or hospitality experience who is looking for consistent part-time weekend work in a creative, entertainment-focused environment.
