Job Description

Job Summary Evening cashier position at OystHERS Raw Bar & Bubbly in Bath, Maine. This is a great opportunity for an individual that is outgoing and thrives in fast-paced environments. This position is also a great introduction to bartending without having to control a full bar. At OystHERS, customers order their food & beverages at the counter
  • the cashier takes their order and makes their drinks and sometimes delivers drinks as well.
With a pooled-tip house, it is important that the cashier also has willingness to help with bussing tables, delivering food, doing dishes, and closing duties. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work Saturday + Monday + potentially Tuesday evenings 3:30pm-9pm from August 15th-October 26th, 2026. We will thoroughly train the right person starting the first week of August. We are open 7 days a week during the busy season and these shifts tend to be busy. Responsibilities
  • Age 21 or older
  • Able or willing to learn how to pour beer and open wine/champagne bottles
  • Has Maine Alcohol Training or TIPS certification (not required but preferred)
  • Has an interest and basic knowledge of wines and local beers
  • Able to talk to guests while actively working on guests orders
  • Able to stand for six hour shifts
  • Has an interest in Maine and oysters
  • Able to maintain a clean and organized bar area
  • Able or willing to learn how to change kegs
  • Able to stock inventory and keep managers/owners informed on inventory
  • Able to commute to work in Downtown Bath, Maine
  • Able to efficiently work a Point of Sale system (knowledge of Toast preferred but not required)
  • Able to communicate with guests to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Able to close the bar
  • Able to wash dishes, bus tables, sweep/mop floors
  • Able to prep the bar before a rush (cutting lemons, limes, stocking juices, etc)
  • Able to use scheduling software (7shifts app) to communicate and switch shifts/find coverage
  • Understands OystHERS is a family-owned small business and has empathy and flexibility Experience Previous bartending experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a friendly atmosphere for guests. Experience in food service or catering can enhance your candidacy. Starting wage is $8 an hour with pooled tips. Most people walk away with $18
  • 40/hour with tips.
Hourly wage is increased to $10/hour after a one-month training period. This is a set schedule from August 15th-October 26th, 2026 with a potential to return in the holiday months or 2027 season. Having the potential to work some other days/shifts would be good too. Saturdays 3:30-9pm Mondays 3:30-9pm Tuesdays 3:30-9pm Interviews will be held in person at OystHERS in Bath.
