Shift Lead & Bartender Full time | Ambler, PA | Hourly + tips Run the bar. Run the room. Pour the beer you love. We're hiring a Shift Lead & Bartender who can take the keys to our Ambler taproom and run it — opening, closing, and everything in between. This is a hands-on role behind the bar with real management responsibility: on most shifts you'll be the person in charge.

ABOUT WELL CRAFTED

Well Crafted Ambler is our production brewery and taproom in Ambler Yards, opened in 2022. It's an indoor/outdoor space with a beer garden, a rotating draft list brewed steps from the bar, and our on-site food truck, Rusted Pig by Comfort. Our original location in Lansdale (open since 2018) is a full brewpub with a restaurant and live entertainment. We're a small, tight team that cares about good beer and good hospitality, and we make room for people to grow.

WHAT YOU'LL RUN

You'll report to the Co-owner and lead a bar team of 1-5 employees. On your shifts, you own: Opening and closing the taproom — cash counts, drawer close, side-work checklists, restocking, and cleaning Service itself — assigning roles, keeping the bar moving, and resolving guest or staff issues as they come up Clear handoffs — daily updates to your team and actionable notes for the next shift The weekly staff schedule for Ambler, including events Inventory counts, low-stock alerts, and ordering spirits, mixers, and snacks. Event setups on site. May include catering setup or breakdown on site.

DAY TO DAY

Pour draft beer, build cocktails, and fill crowlers and growlers Prep cocktail ingredients — fruit, syrups, infusions — and train the team so every pour and measurement is consistent Know the tap list, new releases, specials, and events cold, and help guests find the right beer, wine, cocktail, or non-alcoholic option Suggestively sell: new releases, specials, take-out beer, and merch Social media pictures and posts Field food questions, coordinate with the food truck, and know the basics on prep, allergens, and substitutions Work with leadership on seasonal drink menu updates — cocktails, NA drinks, and snacks Keep menus up-to-date including the taproom chalkboard, website, and printed menus. Enforce PA and company alcohol policy: ID anyone who looks under 35, confirm all guests are 21+, and refuse service to intoxicated guests Help lead, train, coach, and develop the bar team alongside the rest of management

WHO DOES WELL HERE

Has led shifts at a high-volume bar, brewery, or restaurant and is comfortable being the decision-maker Dependable and organized — shows up, follows through, and leaves the next shift set up Steady under pressure and quick to adapt when the night changes direction Loves craft beer and enjoys talking about it with guests

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

3+ years of bartending experience 1+ year of leadership at a brewpub or restaurant Working knowledge of craft beer RAMP certification, or willingness to obtain it within 30 days of hire (we cover the cost). Proficiency with Toast POS, basic editing (Microsoft Word, Google Docs) or similar

SCHEDULE

Full time, 40-50 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. The taproom is open Tuesday-Friday 3-10 pm, Saturday 1-10 pm, and Sunday 1-6 pm; shift lead hours extend before and after for opening and closing.

Typical week:

5 shifts with 2 consecutive days off. Your schedule will be set during the interview process and may flex around special events.
