Bartender / Server Ma Lié Thai Dining in South Kingstown is hiring a friendly, professional and dependable Bartender/Server. This is a part-time position with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future. A staff meal is included during each shift. The Bartender/Server will serve dining-room and bar guests while preparing alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for the restaurant. All dining-room and bar tips will be pooled and distributed among eligible service staff based on hours worked.

Responsibilities:

Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive service Manage assigned dining tables and bar guests Explain the menu, ingredients, spice levels and dietary options Take accurate food and beverage orders Prepare cocktails, mixed drinks, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages Check identification and serve alcohol responsibly Enter orders correctly into the POS system Communicate allergies, modifications and special requests clearly to the kitchen Deliver food and drinks promptly Check on guests throughout their meals Process cash and credit-card payments accurately Prepare and stock the bar before service Refill liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, ice, glassware and other bar supplies Monitor inventory and report low-stock items Complete bar and service-area closing duties Keep the bar, tables and service areas clean and organized Assist other front-of-house team members when needed

What We're Looking For:

Friendly, confident and professional personality Previous bartending and serving experience preferred Basic knowledge of cocktails, beer and wine Strong communication and customer-service skills Able to multitask and remain calm during busy service Strong attention to detail Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team Must be legally eligible to serve alcohol in Rhode Island Evening and weekend availability

Schedule and Benefits:

Part-time Typical evening shift: 4:00 PM-9:30 PM $5 per hour plus pooled tips Tips distributed based on hours worked Possibility of full-time employment in the future Staff meal included during every shift
