General Worker•Food & Nutrition Services\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing\nExerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects\nAbility to reach, stretch, bend, stoop or kneel to handle, lift or move objects from floor level to 6 feet above floor level\nAbility to walk or stand for periods of four (4) continuous hours\nAbility to work under the following environmental conditions:\nThe worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes\nThe worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures are below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour\nThe worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures are above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour\nThe worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level\nThe worker is subject to hazards. This includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to high heat or chemicals\nSatisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening\n

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

\nDirectly responsible to the Food Service Manager for satisfactory completion of all assigned duties (oral or written), performed to the established standard\nResponsible to the Food Service Manager for observance of sanitation and safety rules and regulations.\nAssists with necessary food service operations during times of emergency\nInteracts courteously with the public\nMaintains an effective working relationship with managers and other employees\nMaintains high standards of work habits, sanitation and safety\nAdheres strictly to the Handbook for School Food Service Personnel and all guidelines set forth in SBHC Board Policy\nPrepares food and/or baked goods as directed by the Food Service Manager\nStrictly follows recipes and production planning sheets\nObtains, weighs, and measures products from storage areas in a timely manner to ensure present and future menus are correctly prepared\nPackages and stores food products in accordance with food safety standards and advises manager of amounts to be worked into future menus\nMonitors serving line to ensure enough food is available for service and replaces depleted food with fresh products\nOperates point of sale system and performs cash handling duties\nAssists manager in the ordering and inventory of products and services utilized by the food service operation\nWill take appropriate hours of annual continuing education/training as required by USDA Professional Standards or other such agencies\n

\nPerforms all other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator\n

TERM:

\nLength of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process\n

\nAccording to the School Board of Highlands County Non-instructional Bargaining Support Personnel Salary Schedule\n
