Job Description

Duties Description Performs a variety of tasks in the area of food preparation. Washes refrigerators and other equipment by hand and with equipment, using a variety of cleaning substances. Cleans loading dock areas, garbage cans, storage areas, food preparation areas and general kitchen area including floors, ceilings, and walls using mops, scrub brushes, and other equipment. Washes pots, pans, and other utensils by hand and machine. Sterilizes food sample jars according to directions. Unloads delivery trucks and stores deliveries in appropriate storage areas. Brings food and other supplies to preparation and serving areas as directed. Cleans fruits, vegetables, and potatoes in preparation for cooking as directed. Cooks simple grill-type foods such as hamburgers and eggs. Sets and waits on tables, assisting those individuals unable to feed themselves. Serves food in the proper portions to individuals. Ensures those individuals on special diets receive proper food and portions. Makes toast, coffee, tea, and salads as necessary. Records number of meals served. Cleans dining room and service areas, including furniture, woodwork, windows, floors, and steam tables. Washes dishes and serving utensils by machine and hand. Inventories requisitions and stores supplies. Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have experience working in a kitchen doing a variety of tasks, be a team player, and be willing to go above and beyond. Additional Comments Must be able to swing to all other shifts as needed. Will be scheduled a 12-hour day on weekend scheduled. Ability to work extra time is a requirement. The salary range listed for this posting reflects the full range for this graded position and will be prorated based on the percent of hours worked.
