Lunch Attendant Pioneer at ABU Arlington, TX Job Details Part-time $13 - $15 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Kitchen health and safety standards Pre-cooking preparation Food service health code compliance Cutting Kitchen stations Full Job Description Lunch Attendant Position Summary The Lunch Attendant supports daily dining operations by preparing and maintaining the dining room and self-service food lines, keeping food and supplies stocked throughout lunch, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and assisting with cleanup and other operational needs. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position that requires someone who is dependable, observant, and willing to stay busy. Lunch Attendants are expected to actively monitor their areas throughout service, recognize when food or supplies need attention, and communicate with the kitchen team to keep lunch service running smoothly. Primary Responsibilities Set up and stock self-service food lines before lunch, including food pans, plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, and other necessary items. Continuously monitor food levels during service and keep pans full, clean, and presentable. Communicate with the cook or Food Service Director when additional food needs to be prepared or brought to the line. Maintain clean and sanitary serving lines throughout the entire meal period, including wiping spills, removing food debris, and keeping counters and surrounding areas presentable. Monitor plates, bowls, silverware, cups, condiments, beverages, and other supplies and replenish them before they run out. Assist with pizza preparation, baking, cutting, stocking, and maintaining the pizza station as assigned. Assist with basic food preparation and other kitchen tasks under the direction of the Food Service Director or cook. Maintain the dining room throughout service by wiping and sanitizing tables, addressing spills, removing trash, and keeping the space clean and welcoming. Assist in the dish room, including washing and putting away dishes, trays, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment as needed. Sweep, mop, remove trash, and complete assigned cleaning and sanitation duties. Help receive, organize, and put away deliveries when needed. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, personal-hygiene, and workplace-safety procedures. Use kitchen and food-service equipment only as trained and directed. Complete assigned closing duties and leave the dining room, serving areas, and workstations clean, stocked, and ready for the next meal period. Pays attention to the serving line and takes action when food, dishes, or supplies are getting low rather than waiting to be told. Maintains a clean work area throughout service instead of waiting until the end of the meal period to clean. Works with a sense of urgency during busy periods. Is willing to move between responsibilities and help wherever the operation needs support. Communicates promptly when food, supplies, or equipment need attention. Works cooperatively as part of a small dining-services team. Maintains a friendly and respectful attitude toward students, faculty, staff, guests, and coworkers. Accepts instruction, feedback, and correction professionally. Understands that priorities can change quickly during food-service operations. Takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, welcoming dining environment. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the shift, bending and reaching, working around hot equipment and wet surfaces, and regularly lifting or carrying food pans, dishes, supplies, and other items associated with dining-service operations. Schedule Lunch Attendant schedules are based on dining-service needs and generally include setup before lunch, monitoring and maintaining the dining room and self-service lines during the meal period, and cleanup following service. The Lunch Attendant reports to the Food Service Director and works closely with the cooks and other members of the campus dining team.

Pay:

$13.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
