Personal Chef / Meal Prep Assistant (Food Science / Culinary)

Job Description

Position Overview We are looking for an efficient, detail-oriented cook to take full ownership of our household's weekly meal prep. This is an ideal position for a culinary/nutrition student at Brigham Young University (BYU) or Utah Valley University (UVU) , or a local experienced cook looking for a reliable, recurring side gig. You will be responsible for planning, shopping for, cooking, and packaging 6 days of lunches and dinners for 3 people (36 total meals per week). This role takes place entirely in our home kitchen and is split across two sessions per week (e.g., Mondays and Thursdays, days negotiable).
Key Responsibilities Macro-Focused Menu Planning:
Design a rotating weekly menu that precisely hits our daily caloric and macronutrient targets (protein, carbs, fats).
Grocery Shopping:
Handle the grocery shopping immediately prior to your cooking sessions. (A dedicated grocery budget/payment method will be provided). You can use the Costco card or order the food to be delivered to the home.
In-Home Cooking:
Prepare 18 meals per session (3 people x 2 meals/day x 3 days) in our kitchen.
Portioning & Packaging:
Precisely weigh and portion meals into containers to guarantee macro accuracy.
Kitchen Clean-up:
Leave the kitchen clean after every session (dishes washed, counters sanitized, trash emptied). Qualifications Proven experience cooking in high-volume environments or strong personal meal-prepping skills. Great fit for current BYU or UVU students studying Food Science, Nutrition, Exercise Science, or Culinary Arts. Strong, practical understanding of macronutrient tracking and precise portion control.
Hours & Compensation Schedule:
2 days per week. Expecting a total commitment of 6.5 to 8 hours per week (approx. 3.25 to 4 hours per session, including shopping and cleanup).
Pay:
$160 per week flat rate (guaranteed consistent weekly income).
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
