We're a neighborhood butcher shop in Ventura, and we've recently added The Burger Stand—serving freshly ground burgers cooked over charcoal outside the shop. Business is growing, and we're looking for someone capable, dependable, with good communication skills, and comfortable jumping between different responsibilities throughout the day. This is not just a burger job and you do not need to be an experienced butcher. Depending on the day, the job may include helping customers at the counter, packaging and stocking products, keeping work areas clean and organized, assisting with basic food production, preparing Burger Stand orders, running food between the shop and grill, assembling and handing off orders, and generally helping wherever the team needs another set of hands. We're a small operation, so we're looking for someone who notices what needs to be done and does it. The right person will be comfortable staying busy, working with customers, learning new tasks, and shifting gears when business picks up. Food-service, restaurant, kitchen, grocery, butcher-shop, or retail experience is helpful, but we're willing to train the right person. Reliability, communication skills, work ethic, good judgment, and attitude matter more to us than a perfect résumé. This position will be approximately 25-30 hours per week. Weekend availability is important, including Sundays. Pay starts at $17/hr plus tips.
