Job Description
We are a small, farm-to-table butcher and grocer seeking team-oriented individuals who are passionate about pasture-raised, whole animal butchery and Ohio's local food economy. We do our best to minimize food waste by creating chef-driven, value-added products that illustrate how delicious it can be to 'use the scraps' and eat with the seasons. We are a small staff who tries to maintain an enjoyable work atmosphere through the ebbs and flows of each week. We are looking to hire an additional butcher ahead of the upcoming, busy holiday season. Meat Cutter /
Production:
40 hours per week. Previous experience with butchery and knife skills preferred. This is a very physical job which involves heavy lifting (sometimes 100+ lbs), working in a cold, noisy atmosphere, and lots of cleaning.
- Maintaining a clean work environment by following food-safe SOP's and using proper sanitation methods.
- Assisting butchers with breaking down sides of pork, beef, and occasionally lamb to fabricate into retail cuts.
- Participating in sausage production process from start to finish.
- Preparing orders for wholesale customers.
- Safely operating a meat grinder and band saw.
